Welcome to Developmental Preschool! Meet Mrs. Stevens👋
Hello DVUSD Families! My name is Tammy Stevens, and I am so excited to welcome you and your child to Developmental Preschool this year!
My Background & Experience: Deer Valley Unified School District has been my professional home since 2004! I began my journey in early childhood education as a preschool paraprofessional right here in DVUSD. That passion led me to Grand Canyon University, where I graduated in Spring 2017 with a degree in Special Education and Elementary Education. I then received my Early Childhood endorsement. Since then, I’ve loved every moment of serving our district as a Developmental Preschool Teacher.
Early intervention is truly my life’s work. I believe in creating a joyful, inclusive, and play-based environment where every child feels safe to explore, build independence, and celebrate their unique milestones.
A Little About Me
- Family First: My absolute favorite thing to do is spend time with my adult children and their families. I am a proud grandma to 5 wonderful grandchildren (age ranges from 6 all the way down to 1!) with another grandbaby on the way!
- Pets: At home, we have a sweet yellow lab named Pickles who turns 2 in February, along with two cats, Maverick and Tigger.
- Hobbies: I’ve been married to my wonderful husband for almost 37 years. Lately, we’ve been loving our new hobbies together—vegetable gardening and going fishing!
- Roots: I am originally from Ohio (Go Bucks! 🌰), but I have called the beautiful state of Arizona home for the last 32 years. 🌵
