About Our Class
Meet the Teacher
Welcome to Kindergarten!
I am so excited to be your child’s teacher and to share in their learning journey this year! With over 20 years of teaching experience, I bring a deep passion for early childhood education and a strong commitment to helping each child grow and thrive. Before coming to Village Meadows, I taught a variety of grade levels in early childhood education. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Northern Arizona University and a Master of Education from Grand Canyon University.
I believe that strong communication between parents and teachers is essential to a student’s success. If you ever have any questions or need anything, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Classroom Expectations
AIM for Success – The Viking Way!
At Village Meadows, we take pride in being a PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) school. Our school-wide expectations are built around four key values:
⭐ Safe
⭐ Engage
⭐ Accountable
⭐ Self-Control
In our classroom, we aim to model and live these values every day. Here are a few of the basic behavior expectations your child will learn and practice:
Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself.
Raise your hand to ask questions or leave your seat.
Follow directions the first time.
Be respectful and kind to teachers, classmates, and our school.
Make smart choices — even when no one is watching!
We use a clip-up/clip-down chart in the classroom to help students stay aware of their choices and encourage self-regulation throughout the day. Students can “clip up” for making great choices and showing Viking values — and those positive behaviors are celebrated with Viking Vouchers, Wednesday Super Achievers, and classroom rewards!
If a student is having difficulty meeting expectations, here is the process we follow:
First time – Verbal reminder
Second time – Student clips down
Third time – Student clips down again and works with me to set a goal to get back on track
Fourth time – Student clips down and moves to our reflection area
Fifth time – Student clips down again, and I will contact you to work together on a plan
Please note: Depending on the situation, steps may be skipped at the teacher’s discretion. Parents may be contacted at any point if needed.
As a class, we also create additional community expectations together so that students feel ownership over the classroom culture we build. I’m excited for a year of growth, success, and Viking pride!
